Elmer Sandvigen

Elmer Sandvigen entered the Army on September 9, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Virginia, Minnesota.

He served as a Private First Class and carpenter with the 1296th Engineer Combat Battalion in the Pacific Theater.

He received the following: Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal, American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and four overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged on February 6, 1946 at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
