MADDEN, Ellsworth L.
Ellsworth L. Madden was born on September 22nd 1906 to Francis "Frank" P. & Luella [Inman] Madden in Pine City, Minnesota. The family had moved to Hibbing, Minnesota by 1920.
Mr. Madden was inducted into Army on May 19th 1942 while he was living in Orr, Minnesota.
He was a communications chief with Company C, 396th Engineer Combat Battalion in the European Theater. He rose to the rank of Technical Sergeant (TSGT).
SGT Madden earned the following merits for his service:
- Good Conduct Medal,
- European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal,
- World War II Victory Medal, -and-
- one overseas service bar.
He was honorably discharged on November 20th 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
Mr. Madden died on October 13th 1990 in Virginia, Minnesota at 84 years of age. He is buried at Leiding Cemetery in Orr.
