Eino W. Mattson of Biwabik, Minnesota was inducted into the Army Air Corps on April 30, 1942.
He was a Staff Sergeant and an aircraft armorer-gunner in the European Theater with Air Offensive Europe in northern France.
Mr. Mattson received the: Distinguished Flying Cross with three Oak Leaf Clusters (for three subsequent awards of this decoration), Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal and two overseas service bars.
He was discharged on Sept. 18, 1945.
