Eino Karkinen of Biwabik was inducted into the Army Air Corps on July 31, 1945 at Fort Snelling, Minn. 

He was a Private and served as a special vehicle operator with Squadron C-1, 2109th Army Air Forces Base Unit, in the continental United States.

Mr. Karkinen was awarded the World War II Victory Medal.

He was honorably discharged on December 15, 1945 at Chanute Field, Ill.
