Edwin Paavola of Gheen was inducted into the Army on Feb. 3, 1942.

He was a Technician 5th Grade with Headquarters Company, Signal Aircraft Warning Battalion, in the Pacific Theater.

Mr. Paavola received the: Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and six overseas service bars.

He was discharged on Sept. 12, 1945.
