Edwin "Bun" Darrell Nelson served in the United States 8th Army Air Corps during World War II.

He was born March 22, 1926, in Hibbing, Minnesota, the son of Ed and Margaret Nelson. He graduated from Hibbing High School.

Mr. Nelson died at age 82 on March 23, 2008, in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
