Edward W. Wirtanen

Edward W. Wirtanen was inducted into the Army on June 3, 1943.  Home at entry: Chisholm, Minnesota.

Mr. Wirtanen served as a Technician 4th Grade and cannoneer with Cannon Company of the 25th Infantry Division in Luzon, Philippines.

He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star, World War II Victory Medal, four overseas service bars,and Philippine Liberation Medal with one bronze star.

Mr Wirtanen was honorably discharged on January 25, 1946, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
