Edward W. Opheim

Edward W. Opheim was inducted into the Army on May 30, 1942.

He was a Private First Class and a fire control operator with Battery A, 894th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion, serving in Naples-Foggia and Rome-Arno in the Italian Campaign; northern France, the Rhineland and Central Europe.

Mr. Ophiem received the: Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with five bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal and four overseas service bars.

He was discharged on Oct. 24, 1945.
