Edward S. Kachinske of Kettle River, Minnesota was inducted into the Marine Corps Reserve on June 30, 1944 at Minneapolis, Minn.
He was a Private First Class and worked as an amphibian tractor (LVT) operator, in the Pacific Theater, Ryukyu Islands and Okinawa. He was wounded in action on June 27, 1945.
Mr. Kachinske was awarded the: Purple Heart, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star and World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged on January 14, 1946 at Great Lakes, Ill.
