Edward P. Pugel of Eveleth, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on March 28, 1941.

He was a Technician Fourth Grade and an infantry squad leader with the 3rd Battalion, 394th Infantry Regiment, serving in the Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe and the Pacific Theater.

Mr. Pugel received the: Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with three bronze battle stars, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal, American Defense Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and five overseas service bars.

He was discharged on Oct. 8, 1945.
