Edward P. Fortun was inducted into the Army Air Corps January 15, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minn. Home at entry: Virginia, Minn.
He served as a Technical Sergeant, radio operator-mechanic, and aerial gunner with the 412th Bomb Squadron of the 95th Bomb Group in Central Europe, Ardennes, and Rhineland.
Mr. Fortun was awarded the Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars and World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged October 12, 1945, at Sioux Falls AFB, S.D.
