NOSAN, Edward Lawrence

Edward Lawrence Nosan was born on June 8th 1914 to Anton & Frances [Merhar] Nosan in Buhl, Minnesota.

Mr. Nosan entered the Army on May 4th 1943, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Buhl, Minnesota.

He served as a radio repairman with the 138th Replacement in New Guinea, Philippines (Liberation), Luzon, and Ryukyu Islands. He rose to the rank of Corporal (CPL).

CPL Nosan erned the following medals for his merits: 

  • Good Conduct Medal,
  • Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with four bronze battle stars,
  • World War II Victory Medal,
  • three overseas service bars, -and-
  • Philippine Liberation Medal with two bronze stars.

 

He was honorably discharged on December 12th 1945, at Camp McCoy, Minnesota. After the war he returned home and married Mollie Ann [Baraga] and started a family.

Mr. Noson died on December 11th 1976 at the age of 62. He is buried at Lakeview Cemetery in Buhl.
