Edward Kangas of Gheen, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on October 10, 1941 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He was a Technician 5th Grade and served as a truck driver with the Service Battery of the 104th Field Artillery Battalion in the Eastern Mandates, Western Pacific, and Ryukyu Islands.
Mr. Kangas received the: Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, and six overseas service bars.
He was discharged on October 20, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
