Edward A. Holappa of Duluth, Minnesota, was inducted into the Army on April 29, 1941 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He was a Private and infantryman in the Guadalcanal Campaign of the Southwest Pacific area,
Mr. Holappa was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, Presidential Unit Citation with star, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze stars, American Defense Service Medal and World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged December 27, 1944 at Camp Craft, S.C.
