Edward G. Preattle of Chisholm, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on Feb. 27, 1942.

He was a Sergeant and an infantry squad leader with Company I, 27th Infantry Regiment, serving in the Guadalcanal and New Georgia campaigns in the Pacific Theater.

Mr. Preattle received the: Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal with two bronze battle stars, and the World War II Victory Medal.

He was discharged on Sept. 4, 1944.
