Edward Elias of Gheen, Minn. was inducted into the Army on April 18, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.

He served as a Technician 5th Grade and carpenter with the Corps of Engineers with Headquarters and Service Company of the 311th Engineer Combat Battalion in Central Europe.

Mr. Elias was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal, American Campaign  Medal and one overseas service bar.

He was honorably discharged on Jan. 25, 1946.
