Edward Loberg served in World War II.
He served in the U.S. Navy. He entered the service on March 8, 1944, and attended basic training at NTS Farragut, Idaho. He had advanced training as a gunner at Naval Air Technical Training Command (NATTC), Norman, Oklahoma. Mr. Loberg was stationed at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, Texas, until his discharged on June 1, 1946.
His rank was Aviation Ordnanceman 3rd Class.
Although he never saw combat or was stationed overseas, Mr. Loberg was proud of his military service and his contributions to the war effort.
Mr. Loberg was born on August 2, 1924, in Duluth, Minnesota. He was the son of Albert and Anna (Grund) Loberg, who emigrated from Sweden. He graduated from Duluth Denfeld High School in 1942.
