Edmond M. Haapaniemi of Virginia, Minnesota, entered the Army on October 12, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.

Mr. Haapaniemi was awarded the European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with three bronze battle stars, American Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged June 23, 1946 at Frankfurt, Ger.
