Doris Lindquist Hoffman served during World War II in the U.S. Navy WAVES from 1944 until 1946.

She was born in Meadowlands, Minnesota, on January 27, 1924, the daughter of Peter “August” and Olga (Erickson) Lindquist. She graduated from Meadowlands High School in 1942.

She moved to Seattle to be a wartime employee for Boeing. In 1943 she moved to Duluth, Minnesota.

Ms. Huffman, age 84, died on November 23, 2008, in Duluth.
