TVEIT, Donald George
Donald George Tveit was born on December 28th 1924.to Thomas George & Ottila Francis Tviet in Floodwood, Minnesota.
Mr. Tveit was inducted into the Army on January 4th 1945, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Floodwood, Minnesota.
He served as a Technician Fifth Grade and truck driver with Battery C of the 198th Field Artillery Battalion in the Pacific Theater of WWII.
He served in Missouri, Hawaii, Okinawa, Japan and California.
TEC5 Tveit was awarded the following:
- Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Medal,
- World War II Victory Medal,
- Army of Occupation Medal (Japan), -and-
- two overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on December 8th 1946, at Fort Sheridan, Illinois. After the was he returned home and married Ottilia Frances and started a family.
Mr. Tveit died on November 2nd 2015 at 90 years of age. He is buried at Hope Lutheran Cemetery in his hometown of Floodwood.
