David A. Jones

David A. Jones entered the Merchant Marine service in 1925.

He was Master (Captain) of a merchant ship at age 19. He was the youngest merchant skipper in U.S. history.

He sailed in combat areas of the Atlantic. His ship was torpedoed four times resulting in the sinking of his vessel.

He was separated from the Merchant Marine service in 1956.
