Cora Rae Beatty attended basic training at Hunter College, New York and Naval storekeepers' training at the Milledgeville school in Georgia-the only school for WAVE storekeepers in the nation.
She was then stationed in Cleveland, Ohio with the Bureau of Supplies and Accounts.
Cora was promoted to Storekeeper Third Class and also received the Civil Service rating of C.A.F3. She was the first woman in Cook, Minnesota to enlist in the armed services and was honorably discharged after 18 months of service
