Clifford R. Franttila of Brimson, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on Aug. 6, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He served as a Technician 5th Grade, driver-mechanic and machine gunner with the 217th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion, in Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe.
Mr. Franttila was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal and two overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on Jan. 10, 1946 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
