Clifford R. Ericksmoen of Duluth, Minn. was inducted into the Army on May 21, 1943 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He served as a Technician 4th Grade and welder with Company M of the 692nd Engineer Special Shop Battalion in New Guinea and Luzon.
He says: "I spent 3-1/2 years in hospitals for service-connection tuberculosis, tropical ulcers, duodenal ulcers, blood poisoning, scarlet fever and partial loss of my right lung."
Mr. Ericksmoen was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal and three overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on Jan. 20, 1946 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
