Clifford Merle Van Dyke was born January 21st 1921 to Raymond M. & Josie [Williamson] Van Dyke in Rush City, Minnesota.
Mr. Van Dyke was inducted into the Army on July 2nd 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Duluth, Minnesota.
He served as a Technician 5th Grade and cryptographic technician (code clerk) with the Signal Corps in the Pacific Theater during WWII.
He was awarded the following:
- Good Conduct Medal,
- Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, -and-
- World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged October 12th 1945, at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. After the war he married Verna [Olson] and started a family.
Mr. Van Dyke died on November 20th 1997. He is buried at Bethany Cemetery in Duluth, Minnesota.
