Clement "Clem" J. Lemire entered the Army on February 10, 1941, at Duluth, Minnesota.
He served as a Sergeant, company clerk, and company medic with the 135th Infantry Regiment in Tunisia, Naples, Foggia, Rome, Arno, North Apennines, and Po Valley. He was wounded in action in Italy on December 6, 1943.
Mr. Lemire was awarded the following: Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal and European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal.
He was honorably discharged on August 31, 1945, at Camp Beale, California.
