TAYLOR, Clayton Barry
Clayton Barry Taylor was born September 19th 1917 to Robert and Taylor in Hibbing, Minnesota.
Mr. Taylor was inducted into the Army on April 10, 1941, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minnesota.
Mr. Taylor served as a Corporal and truck master with Headquarters Company of the First Battalion of the 135th Infantry Regiment in Tunisia, North Africa; and Naples-Foggia and Rome-Arno, Italy.
He was awarded the following:
- Combat Infantryman Badge,
- Bronze Star Medal,
- Good Conduct Medal,
- American Defense Service Medal,
- European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars,
- World War II Victory Medal, and
- three overseas service bars.
CPL Taylor was honorably discharged on July 13th 1945, at Camp Beale, California. He died August 27th 1953 in Hennepin County, Minnesota. He is buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing, Minnesota.
