ROBERTS, Clarence William
Clarence William Roberts was born on July 20th 1911 to Andrew & Mary [Martinson] Roberts in Hibbing, Minnesota
Mr. Roberts enlisted in the U.S. Army on May 23rd 1942 in Virginia, Minnesota during WWII.
He was a welder with the 38th Quartermaster Company in New Guinea, Southern Philippines and Luzon. He rose to the rank of Private First Class (PFC).
PFC Roberts earned the following merits for his service:
- Good Conduct Medal,
- Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal with 3 bronze battle stars,
- American Campaign Service Medal,
- Philippine Liberation Medal with 1 bronze star,
- World War II Victory Medal, -and-
- Three overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on November 16th 1945.
Mr. Robert died on September 1st 1970 at 59 years of age. He is buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
