Clarence W. Michals of Virginia, Minnesota was inducted into the Army Air Corps on February 3, 1942.
He was a Private First Class and a truck driver with the 342nd Bomb Squadron, 97th Bomb Group (H): Air Combat Balkans; Tunisia, North Africa; Sicily, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, North Apennines and Po Valley, Italy; Northern and Southern France and Rhineland.
Mr. Michals received the: Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with ten bronze battle stars (or two silver stars), five overseas service bars and World War II Victory Medal.
He was discharged on September 7, 1945.
