SIMENSEN, Clarence E. "Si"
Clarence E. Simensen "Si" was born on July 2, 1918, in Duluth, Minnesota, the son of Carl & Marie (Langseth) Simensen.
Mr. Simensen entered the Army Air Corps on April 20, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Duluth, Minneosta. He served in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
He served as Technical Sergeant, aerial engineer and air crew member with the 16th Tow Target Squadron in the Pacific Theater. Attended basic and technical school training at Shepherd Field, Texas. Served two years at Kahaka Army Air Base in Oahu, Hawaii. Assigned to ferrying aircraft to the Islands in the Pacific.
Mr. Simensen was awarded with the following:
- Good Conduct Medal,
- American Campaign Medal,
- Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, -and-
- World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged January 10, 1946, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
