Clarence R. Anderson entered the Army on February 10, 1941.
He served as a First Sergeant with the 125th Field Artillery in Europe, North Ireland and England before he was transported to Africa, landing at Oran, Algeria, in January 1943.
He served with the U.S. Fifth Army under British command in Algeria, Tunisia, then participated in the invasion of Italy at Salerno. He participated in Anzio and Cassino. He also served as a noncommissioned officer infantry replacement at Fort Ord, California.
Mr. Anderson was honorably discharged on July 8, 1945, at Fort Snelling, Minneosta.
