Clarence L. Hilliard enlisted in the Coast Guard July 27, 1927.

(Also Naval service August 15, 1923 to August 14, 1926 as Warrant Radio Electrician).

He was a Chief Warrant Officer, radio, underwater sound and Fathometer operator.

His last enlistment was at the Coast Guard Radio Station at Northbrook, Ill., and aboard the USCGC Mackinaw  in the continental United States.

He was honorably discharged January, 1950, USCGC Mackinaw, Cheboygan, Mich.
