Clarence E. Roche entered the Army Air Corps on June 12, 1943.
He served as a First Lieutenant and navigator.
Mr. Roche shared the following: "I flew 48 combat missions of 12 to 15 hours each over the Pacific from New Guinea, the Philippines, and le Shima (south of Japan). Had to bail out once into the ocean over the Northern Philippines and was picked up two hours later by the Navy in a PBY-2 seaplane."
He was released from active duty on February 4, 1946.
