Charles E. Grigal of Virginia, Minnesota, was inducted into the Army on May 30, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He served as a Staff Sergeant in Company D with the 321st Infantry Regiment in the Southern Philippines and Western Pacific.
Mr. Grigal was awarded the: Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal with one bronze star, World War II Victory Medal and two overseas service bars.
He was discharged January 2, 1946 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
