Carl Lester Swanson

Carl Lester Swanson served in World War II in the Pacific Theater. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the 1st Marine Division.

Mr. Swanson was decorated with the Purple Heart.

He was born on July 27, 1922, in Medilia, Minnesota, the son of Emanuel and Grace (Schoen) Swanson. He graduated from Minneapolis South High School.

Mr. Swanson died at age 85 on May 18, 2008, in Duluth, Minnesota.
