Boyd E. Hawkinson of Cook, Minnesota, was inducted into the Army on Sept. 18, 1944 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He was a Technician 5th Grade and light truck driver in the 452nd Engineer Depot Company in the Ryukyu Islands.
Mr. Hawkinson was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star, World War II Victory Medal and one overseas service bar.
He was honorably discharged on Dec. 23, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
