“I, youngest of three siblings, served in WWII in the European Theater of Operations. The eldest, Randolph O. Heide, was killed in action in Italy area after battle in North Africa. He received Silver Star posthumously plus had Oak Leaf Cluster. (Courthouse of Grand Rapids would have records of this.) I would like to make this trip [the Honor Flight] partly in respect of my two brothers, both veterans, and now both deceased.”
