Bert L. MacDonald of Virginia, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on June 22, 1942.
He was a Private First Class and a truck driver with Company M, 351st Infantry Regiment. He served in Sicily, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, Northern Apennines and the Po Valley in Italy.
Mr. MacDonald was awarded the: European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with a silver battle stars (denoting five csmpsigns), Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal and four overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on Sept. 25, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
