Arvo A. Heitala

Arvo A. Heitala was inducted into the Army July 8, 1942, Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Floodwood, Minnesota.

He served as a Private First Class and litter bearer in the Medical Corps with the 68th Medical Depot Company in Guadalcanal and Northern Solomons.

Mr, Heitala was awarded the Good Conduct Meda,l American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze stars and World War II Victory Medal. 

He was hospitalized in Aukland, New Zealand, with yellow fever, jaundice, and dermatitis.

He was honorably discharged September 18, 1945, Brooke Convalescent Hospital, Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
