Arvo A. Ekroos of Makinen, Minn. was inducted into the Army on April 25, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He served as a Private First Class and medic with the 5th Evac Hospital in Tunisia, North Africa; Naples-Foggia and Rome-Arno, Italy; Southern France, Rhineland and Central Europe.
Mr. Ekroos was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and six overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on Nov. 15, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
