Arthur W. "Bill" Mickelson Jr. of Duluth and Two Harbors Minnesota,was born in Jackson, Michigan on December 25, 1927, to Arthur and Dorothy Mickelson.

He attended Two Harbors High School and served in the Navy at the end of World War II. He was married to Virginia Gravelle in 1950 and raised six children and worked for the DM&IR Railroad as a telephone linemen until retiring as an electrical linemen in 1989.

He died Dec. 27, 2002.
