Mr. Aro Inducted into the Army August 10, 1944, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Zim Minnesota.
He served as a Private First Class, light truck driver, with Company E of the 254th Infantry Regiment and 63rd Infantry Division. He served in Rhineland and Central Europe, including the Danube River crossing.
Awarded: Bronze Star Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Infantryman Badge, European-African-Middle-Eastern Campaign Medal, and two overseas service bars.
Mr. Aro was honorably discharged May 1, 1946, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
