Arthur Hoene ntered the Coast Guard and served as an officer in the North Atlantic. He retired from active duty.

Arthur Hoene served during World War II in the U.S. Coast Guard. He entered the Coast Guard Academy in 1941.
He became an officer and was immediately assigned to a Coast Guard Cutter on convoy duty in the North Atlantic, eventually rising to the position of Executive Officer.
At war’s end, he joined the Judge Advocate General’s Office as a Coast Guard Hearing Officer serving the Portland and San Francisco area.
He retired from the Coast Guard with the rank of Commander after 22 years of service.
He was born in Duluth, Minnesota, in 1912. He graduated from Duluth Boys’ Cathedral High School.
Mr. Hoene died on March 20, 2007, in Glendale, Arizona.
