Arthur A. Annala
Mr. Annala inducted into the Army on April 17, 1941 at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Togo, Minnesota.
He took his basic training at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana, under John Vessey, who later became Army Chief of Staff.
He served as a Corporal and a field lineman with Headquarters Battery of the 34th Infantry Division, serving in Tunisia, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, North Apennines, and Po Valley. He was wounded on January 18, 1944, in the Mediterranean Theater.
He received the following: Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal, American Defense Medal and American Campaign Medal.
Mr. Annala was honorably discharged on June 27, 1945, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota.
