Archie J. Hemming was inducted into the Army April 16, 1942.
He served as a Technician 4th Grade and radio repairman with Headquarters company and Second Battalion of the 136th Infantry Regiment in New Guinea, and Luzon.
Mr. Hemming was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal with bronze star and four overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged November 27, 1945 at Camp, McCoy, Wisconsin.
