Anthony James Pahula

Anthony James Pahula served in World War II in the Pacific Theater.
Mr. Pahula joined the Army National Guard in December 1938 to pay for college, and he was assigned to Company F, 206th Infantry. In 1940, his unit was converted to Battery F, 217th Coast Artillery, Anti-Aircraft Artillery, and on January 28, 1941, Battery F was activated for federal service. Mr. Pahula completed coursework at Camp Davis, North Carolina. He was then sent to the Pacific Theater. Mr. Pahula also served with the 569th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion and the 487th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion.
He was discharged on February 27th, 1946.
His rank was 1st Lieutenant.
Mr. Pahula was decorated with the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars and the Philippine Liberation Medal with one Bronze Star.
Anthony Pahula was born in 1917 in Soudan, Minnesota, the son of John and Mary Pahula. He graduated from high school in 1936.

“I joined Company F, 206 Infantry, in December of 1938 to pay for college at Moorhead, Minnesota.
“In 1940, Company F was converted to Battery F, 217 CA (AAA).
“On January 28, 1941, Battery F was inducted into the U.S. Army.
“In April 1943, I completed an OSC course at Camp Davis in North Carolina. I then served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater until my relief from active duty in February 1946.”
