RALIDAK, Andrew Francis
Andrew Francis Ralidak was born on October 17th 1921 to Joseph F. & Anna [Spavor] Ralidak in Meadowland, Minnesota.
Mr. Ralidak enlisted in the regular U.S. Army on October 21st 1940. He served as a platoon leader and a heavy machine gunner with Company D, 63rd Infantry Regiment in the U.S. He rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant (SSGT),
SGT Ralidak earned the following merits for his service:
- Good Conduct Medal,
- American Campaign Service Medal,
- American Defense Service Medal, -and-
- World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged on December 16th 1945. After the war he returned home and he married Mary Ellen [Northey] on April 12th 1947 and they started a family.
Mr Ralidak died on May 9th 1997 at the age of 75 years in Duluth, Minnesota. He is buried at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Elmer, Minnesota.
