Mr. Britz inducted into the Army on June 17, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota.
He served as an administrative NCO with Headquarters Company of the Second Battalion and 321st Infantry Regiment, in the Pacific. He participated in the liberation of the Southern Philippines.
He received the following: Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal with one bronze service star and two overseas service bars.
Mr. Britz was honorably discharged on December 14, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
