Alllen D. Ethier was inducted into the Army March 29, 1942, Fort Snelling, Minn. Home at entry: Nashwauk, Minn.
He served as a Technician 4th Grade and truck driver with Headquarters Company of the 1st Battalion of the 474th Infantry Regiment in the Aleutian Islands; Naples-Foggia and Rome-Arno, Italy; Southern France; Rhineland; Central Europe; and in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater.
He was wounded in action in Italy on December 4, 1943.
Mr. Ethier was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with one silver battle star (for five bronze stars) and bronze arrowhead. and World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged October 30, 1945, Camp Atterbury, Ind.
