Alfred N. Peterson of Virginia, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on Feb. 3, 1942.

He was a Technical Sergeant and a platoon sergeant with Company L, 159th Infantry Regiment, serving in northern France.

He received the: European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with a bronze battle star, American Campaign Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and five overseas service bars.

He was discharged on Nov. 12, 1945.
